Death comes in threes. There'll be another.

For me the three already happened, I felt losing Tom Petty was a personal slight of sorts I guess....

Who remembers crapping themselves when they heard the Ric Ocasek was dating Paulina Porizkova? Star of the hottest 80's poster ever sold at Spencer's Gifts.

RIP Ric. "The Cars" was he first cassette that I bought after i got my first walkman. I still remember it because we were on a road trip somewhere and my dad was listening to 50's music. We stopped at a Kmart or something along the way and I got a walkman, batteries and The Cars. I listened to that tape until it wore out and then I got another!!!

Damn Another legend gone. I always love the quirky stuff the Cars threw at us.

75 Years old? I guess I didn't realize how much time has gone by. RIP Ric

Now there is some sort of confusion over how old he was! Police report he was 75 but apparently public records say 70?

Either way is sad - Cars were one of the bands who were on regular vinyl rotation when I was a kid at home!!

The year "Candy O" was released, my parents asked me if there was anything I wanted as a present for my birthday. I liked the song "Let's Go", which was getting played on the radio, and asked for this album.

My mother planned to buy it, but refused after seeing the album cover, thinking it was way too risque. To be honest, I had never seen the album cover before I had asked.

I still remember this story whenever I hear Let's Go play on the radio.

RIP Ric.

I loved that first album and still play my original vinyl copy all the time. I also like how the music was used in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Very sad news! I actually was able to meet him for 2 minutes in the Village many years ago. Seemed like a good guy. Very sad......
