Vampires Everywhere #14

Just got this in today. This is a screen accurate hand made reproduction of the prop comic book from the film Lost Boys. This comic never actually existed in real life. The original prop (as far as I know) is still owned by the comic book shop that the scene in the movie was filmed in, (although the shop has moved locations since then).

The reproduction consists of front and back cover, and a centerfold page which was the only pages ever filmed for the movie.

I can not see it very well but what is the company name that is on the cover.

It looks like the company emblem who put out "Pre teen Kung fu Kangaroos".

Well I'll be damned, they did exist, I wonder if they had a part in the making if the prop for the movie?

Nope, it is real. They also put out Battletech, Werewolf (based on the 80s tv show), and even Star Wars 3-d

That's pretty cool history, they never did produce this comic though the company logo is screen accurate.

This is on their wiki page "In addition to their comic book line, Blackthorne published paperback books and created faux books for movie props." So they did produce the original movie prop.

My reproduction was made by Rabid Weasel Studio, a horror mask and prop maker based in the UK.

I'm considering getting a ComicSkin slab, and making a faux grading label to complement this.

A fake slab for a fake book. I love it.
