I think they want a bite from them to be deadly, hours later.

Speaking of that. When are we going to get a super villain called the Komodo Dragon Man, or just Komodo?

Somebody should buy this book from Poka and have it slabbed & graded.

I would ask Poka if he would be willing to ship the book directly to either CBCS or CGC (at $500 + shipping/insurance costs to cgc/cbcs for pressing and grading with pressing, grading fees paid upfront.

Book could be subbed under Poka cgc/cbcs account, assumably he has a dealer discount.

It could be shipped directly to the buyer, with all pressing, geading,shipping/insurance charges charges (returned insured shipping from either company paid upfront by the buyer.)

Everything would be fast tracked, paid in full by the buyer.

Just my suggestion, this book is a very good buy at $500.

A contract would have to be worked out and digitally signed by Poka and the buyer.

This approach would save the buyer pine chain in shipping/insurance costs.

Or just buy it outright at $500 + insured shipping, sub it yourself or keep it.

Offer would only be made to reputable CBCS / CGC boardies.

No deals with boardies who are newbies and/or otherwise questionable.

No returns on CGC or CBCS graded books, no guaranteed grade other than Universal i.e. unrestored....that is my suggestion.

@CopperAgeKids thanks - all good suggestions and yes - all what you have described can be arranged. I currently have about 150 books on their way or already with CGC/CBCS for grading.

I will probably end up getting it slabbed myself if doesn’t sell

Yeah, that is what I'd do with it, personally.Just sell it slabbed.

Pre-screen for 9.8 and if it doesn't meet the pre-screen...and you know the book has pressable defects, have it Quick Pressed than fast tracked graded.Total TAT would be 6 weeks for pre screening, quick press and slabbing. 👌👍

I have literally every flat surface in my makeshift office, covered in small stacks of books that I need to prep for grading.

I also have an unGodly amount of prep work still left to do to add new stock for my booth at the Big Apple in mid April.

I think I have roughly 20 unopened boxes that I have bought off eBay and facebook sellers, that I haven't even opened...from as far back as 2 years ago.

That is how knee deep I am in books.

Unless it is a stack of silver age, EC's or Timely's for way below FMV...or books that I think are huge sleepers that I can pick off very cheaply.....or books that I can buy for peanuts and resell raw or slabbed for big mark ups...I am not buying anything.

I am swimming in unprocessed books.I am putting off pressing anymore than a handful of books til after Big Apple, I don't have the time.

I'll press/crank out a couple hundred books to sub at Wizard Philly, a couple months after the Big Apple, between CBCS and CGC, though.

I blame 90% of my typographical errors on auto spell correct.

Just sayin'.😂😂😂

Glad to help.

I only made the suggestion to others on here based on the fact that you are a well known and reputable CBCS & CGC boardie. And we all know you have just as good of feedback on eBay as a seller.

Given that the price you have on the book is $250 below the lowest eBay BIN, if I was in the market for this book, I would buy it from you.

Auto correct doesn't create words that don't exist or create misspelled words.

Just sayin'

The grade would not be undesirable, based on Poka' s reputation.

If Poka received his pre ordered copy with any sort of damage from his supplier, which is unlikely given the value of the book, I would be confident in Poka ability to handle either a replacement or a full refund....and Poka does end the first post in this thread with "PM me for more information".

Any buyer would have to PM Poka for that information WRT the book's grade.

There is one sale at $1499 /OBO on eBay.

That is from a relatively low feedback seller, who also has a negative feedback....and that seller literally made no mention of the grade of the book on the $1499/OBO sale that he made.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/263543431820

Soooo, yeah.

If I was in the market for this variant, I would PM Poka ....someone whom has ample feedback and has been around the boards and eBay for a long time without any issues....and than I would go from there, after PM'ing Poka.

The copy on eBay sold for $950.
Of course, there's no way to prove that it was a legitimate sale, but that was the offer price it sold for.

Craziness.
I don’t trust the long term viability of these types of manufactured collectibles.

If someone is so in love with that cover and has the money, god bless 'em.

For people buying it to speculate...I'm not so sure it wouldn't be wiser to go box diving at a con. I've been able to pull out $100+ books out of $1 & $2 boxes.

CGC is super tight on moderns now; a single small pine tick and you get a 9.6.

Anyway...I know you don't like pre-sales but if there are no other slabbed copies on eBay, I'd jump on putting yours on there, post haste.

First to market prices are always sweet.

Just make it a 7 or 14 day pre-sale....If it's graded, it should be on its way to you tomorrow.

Factually incorrect. I get 9.8's back from CGC with spine ticks and bindery chips all the time. They are very loose these days CAKY.

It has already been shipped - so on the way to me.

I will list it once I get it. Too many returns on pre-sold slabs. I have had buyers returning slabs for the weirdest reasons. Actually I have one being returned now - because the noob buyer disagrees with CGC’s grading (it is a 9.8)
