@TimBildhauser, @Gabriel85301 came by the booth at Ace in January and you met him, although I don't think he mentioned anything about being on the CBCS boards.

@Gabriel85301, I'll see you at Phoenix Comic Fest

Yeah, I've met Tim several times, in Phoenix, and in Portland two years ago at Rose.
I loved how Tim pulled out a flip open lens to check out a Jack Kirby signature.

May 25-27 is Comicpalooza in Houston! https://www.comicpalooza.com/

It was a blast last year, and this year's lineup is firming up nicely.

Charlie Cox is going to be present, so I plan on picking up a couple of modern Daredevil's for his sig; maybe a Funko Pop too. I plan to do the same Comic/Pop combo w/ Skottie Young & What If Venom possessed Deadpool too.

Anyone attending who is interested in a board game night, there is usually a really good turnout at the Hilton lobby bar.

@BabaLament I'll see you there. Have to wait & see about the board game night, I have a couple of friends that are coming too so I know we'll be spending some time hanging out & talking about foreign comics.

Carbo's Big Apple on April 14-15

https://www.bigapplecc.com/

Carbo told me about 2 months back via text message that Stan Lee will be there for 1 day....this was right before Stan publically announced, or it was reported, that Stan has/had pneumonia.

Stan is not listed on the site , I believe that is because Carbo is not sure if Stan will be physically able to make it to the show.

Stan had to back out of last year's Big Apple due to health related issues....this was IIRC stated by Stasn Lee or one of his agents literally the day before (or 48 hours at most) he was scheduled to appear......so Carbo flew in Jim Lee, to replace Stan Lee, as the guest of honor.

I think Carbo is playing it safe by not announcing Lee will appear at the Big Apple Con, intil Carbo knows for sure Stan's health is improving and he will be there.

Carbo is still adding guests to this show and his vendor exhibitor list, for whatever reason, only lists *some* of the comic book dealers who actually exhibit at his shows, if I am not mistaken.

Biggest comic crator/artist/writer he has now is Steranko.

FWIW, these are just my thoughts and I haven't talked to Carbo in months.

In any event, and IMHO, Carbo's Big Apple is unquestionably the best annual show on the east coast; wether you're buying or selling.

Carbo always brings the best dealers in.

I remember JunkDrawer (from the CGC Forums name) showing me a high grade raw copy of Casper The Friendly Ghost #1 he bought at the show, when I was set up there 2 years back. He told me he had literally been looking for a HG raw or slabbed copy for a decade or more ( I can't remember exactly), with no luck.

I missed last year's Big Apple because I was too late on trying to book a booth. But I'll be there this yearthis is the only show I'm doing besides the Boston Comic Con over the summer and a small quarterly show in Cherry Hill NJ , in May.

The GSCF Great Adventure 1 day show is a possibility, but I dunno how the admission fee works.

HeroesCon in Charlotte is in June. I'll be going, for the third year in a row, because it's awesome.

Here is the full list of guests so far. Names I recognize are: Michael Cho, Francesco Francavilla, José Luis García-López (!), Klaus Janson, Jason Latour, Jae Lee, Joelle Jones, Bob McLeod (there you go, @thelastbard), Kevin Nowlan, Rob Reis, Robson Rocha, Don Rosa, Brian Stelfreeze, and Lee Weeks (!!).

Nickel City Con in Buffalo NY May 18-20
Third year for this show. Really enjoyed this Con in the past years.
Good mix of comic creators/dealers and the celebrity petting zoo model.
Hoping to see more high caliber comic dealers this year. They had Greg Reece’s sons out last year. Hoping they come back.
They scored Frank Cho this year. Pretty psyched.

I plan to make it to the Motor City Con in Novi on the first day(Friday).I did that before and it is a LOT less crowded.I luckily live 15 minutes away from Novi. I think I will also check out the Plymouth comic book show on April 7th. I will be in the area that morning for something else and it will be convenient.

I know it's still aways away.. like in September.. but

Rose City ComicCon Portland was able to lure ADAM HUGHES.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
Jumping forward a bit to August but Terrificon has an awesome artist lineup this year.

In addition to many other great artists they have both Michilini and Frenz for any Spider-Man fans out there.

Problem with Terrific Con is that it takes place very close to Boston Comic Con.

The majority of dealers that set up at Boston, also set up at Terrific Con.

Basically, dealers' stock will be picked over at Terrific Con.

I only did the first two days of Terrificon last year and I was so busy getting autographs that I only had about an hour to shop for books. I remember looking at a lot of wall books but only buying a few.
