The higher you go, the more you have to spend to justify paying their dues

It doesn't seem worth it to me, but I'm not slabbing dozens or hundreds of books every year.

I submitted 76 comics to CBCS last year, so it was worth it for me to purchase the Bronze Membership. I just wish the coupons would be different (or at least give me options for services that I would actually want - like how about free cover photos or a couple of free VSP’s?), and that they would show up on your invoice form (you have to write them on the invoice copy you submit with your order).

If your going to be submitting more than a few books per year it is to your advantage to buy the Bronze membership to get the $16 per book rate. That being said the $100 membership vouchers are an absolute rip off. They limit you to using them ONLY for specific tier/options that results in you not even being able to use the complete $100, Thus having to forfeit the remaning balance of the membership fee you paid. The membership vouchers should allow you more options with your $100 in order that you not get screwed out any remaining balances.

Example

The Bronze Membership is $100, it includes:

(2) 2-Day Modern
(3) Fast Passes

SO....

I submit

2 books under the 2-Day modern tier $36 each = $72
add on 2 Fast Passes at $9 per book =......... $18
for a total of................................ $90

You can not apply the $10 balance you have to shipping or anything else(I called customer service on this)

So this became VERY confusing. My understanding was that you now only have one option for using that remaining fast pass, by submitting a 3rd book at the 2-Day modern tier($36, this time out of pocket) and even if you do that your still out the $1, because the Fast pass is $9.

If forces you to use the 2-Day modern tier (which I would NEVER use for any modern books as opposed to the $16 per book Modern Rate at which I could have submitted 6 books had the membership vouchers not forced me to use that 2-Day Modern tier with Fast Passes.

They should just give you a $100 Credit voucher to apply to your first submission.

Beings I had planned to submit 30-50 books a year, I guess it is a small price to pay in order to get the $16 per book discount.

My biggest complaint is that the different coupons basically force you to get multiple shipments back, which jacks up the price of shipping. If you were already going to send separate 2-day modern and fast pass orders I guess it isn't a big deal, but if you just want to send one shipment in and use the coupons, you're going to get two or more shipments back.

I submotted like a hundred books last year so the $2 discount per book was well worth it in the long run. I went with the Silver membership so I used the two Rapid coupons on some high value books I sent in on their own

I think doing a credit would be the better path to go. I do like the fast pass coupons that come with the Bronze tier. I usually just stick with the Bronze since there is no real price difference when submitting books between the B, S, and G tiers.
