The price could have been removed, or it could be an error. Take a close look below the issue number, are there any erasure marks?

Doesn’t look like it’s been erased, maybe an error

@Batman66 - See if you can get a picture that shows the spine. The 50 cents price is also on the spine right next to where it is supposed to be on the front cover.

Interesting, I know it's not, but that's what the UNCANNY X-MEN OMNIBUS VOL #1 looks like.

HARDCOVER

I couldn't get go the pics myself, but if you take the evidence:

- omnibus cover look a like
- no cost on cover
- CC logo is in a different position
- older looking copy rough about 3.0-4.0
- clearly comic book size

One guess - that it could be a first run issue, released before the the price change occurred, which wE corrected after the error was caught,

May I ask, where did you find it at?

Interesting.

That is really odd.

It almost looks like someone erased it and touched up the spine there

Hopefully not, and you just have some super rare error book!

Back in the late 80’s I bought a batman 2 with a 15 cent cover, gary cater had a magazine called the comic book marketplace did a layout for it. I think there are 3 known copies. Had 800 Inyo the book, traded it for a fun of Spider-Man 1-42, a run of fantastic four 1-44, and a beautiful copy of tales of suspense 30,had it slabbed last year and came back a 8.5. That was my holy grail outside of buying a Captain America 1 for 1000 a few years later

From the cover picture, it looks like there are at least two specks of black ink in the price area. One occurs where the bottom of the ‘5’ would be and the other where the bottom of the vertical stroke would be in the ‘cents’ symbol. If so, it means possible erasure.

@Scorpion

That’s the way the square bound books were stapled.

Covers are not stapled on Giant size comics. They are glued on.

I paid 450 for the book, he was oblivious about the price not being there, so I don’t think that the price was erased and touched up, doesn’t make sense
