A place to, hopefully, post about cons large and small coming to your area.

In the San Francisco Bay area in September is San Francisco Comic Con. Really looking forward to this as it is the first large con in San Francisco proper since Wondercon moved away (the wretches).

http://sanfrancomiccon.com/

Already have my Sunday ticket and am looking forward to a new genre, although am not sure what new direction to go in.

August 18th-21st is the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con, previously known as Wizard World Chicago

http://www.wizardworld.com/comiccon/chicago

One of the great things about this con is that, despite the increased celebrity presence, it has still maintained its roots as a great comic buying show

I'll be attending this show, I sure hope they have some good vintage comic book dealers. So many shows are 90% crap and 10% comics. Would be so nice to see a show where comics outnumber movie/tv/game stuff...

I'll be hitting Wizard Philly this week, mostly just for onsite grading and to sub a few books to CBCS, don't plan on buying much at all....I'm swimming in books that I haven't even gotten to process, yet.

I only have 3 shows booked for the rest of the year, but I will be setting up at NY Wintercon in December, need to pay for that booth soon....and a small show in Cherry Hill, NJ, which I'll have a couple tables at.For a small show, there's a lot of silver AND gold in the room.

The 3 shows I'll be attending (actually setting up at with a booth) on the east coast are:

Eternal Con in NY, 2nd week of June
-10,000+ through the door last year (paid admission count)
-3 floors of dealers

I booked a 6 foot table on the first floor, near the front door.
Last year I got stuck on the 2nd floor with a 10x10 booth, learned my lesson this year.

Just going to bring better stock like $10 books...4 short boxes of $20-$200 raw books, 3 short boxes of slabsand a couple short boxes of cheaper books ($3 and $5 stock, along with a flex-sell wall of better books.

Garden State Comic Fest, July

-2nd year show, can't remember the attendance figure last year but it was well attended.
-Both CBCS and CGC will be set up.

I did well last year-I'll have the same set up...right by the front door..about 20' by 8' of space...bringing tons of books.

Conn. - Mohegun Sun

-August

Heard a lot of good things about this show, paid for a 10'10 months ago.

Cool....it's always fun to meet other boardies in person and put a face to the name

Are you setting up with a booth or going there to buy/sell/trade?

LOL. But luckily I might have to be on my best behavior, as I think at least one of my two boys wants to come with me.

This nice little show is probably close to you:

Plainville, CT
VFW
http://cliffscons.blogspot.com/

And this show in the fall probably is too:

East Windsor, CT
Golden Gavel Auction house

I've never been to this one, it used to be really Manga/Anime oriented, but they seem to have branched out in recent years:

Hartford, CT

Take a look at the London Super Comic Convention.
The focus is only Comics and some merchandise. Great Artist Alley, awesome organisation and no actors.
