What is the Hulk 181 of this generation?3785

Collector 00slim private msg quote post Address this user
What do you think is the equivalent to the Hulk 181 of this generation?

My first thought was NYX #3, perhaps due to the Wolverine connection.

With some thought, though, Walkong Dead #1 is a great candidate too.

What do you think will have the staying power of Hulk 181?

This is just for fun.

Walking Dead #1 for sure.

Walking Dead #1 had a smallish print run, but after the show ends and the comic series ends, I wonder if it'll maintain its value. Will it be like Star Wars/Star Trek (continued fan base) or more like X-Files (meh who cares?).

My guess would be NM 98. 181 is the 1st appearance of one of the most iconic characters in comics. Deadpool is possibly the only "modern" hero I see having the popularity and staying power as Wolvie. Not saying #98 will have the same value as #181, just that that one has the best chance of reaching thst level of desirability 40 yrs after it's debut.

Toss up between NM98 amd BA12.BOTH are cover shots.they were a lil high b4 movies.so they are more than likely pt of the "evergreens" list now.may experience a Slight fall off after movies die down.

I remember back when WD-1 hit the stands, I could have snagged 20 copies in NM condition - Nope, just some temporary zombie craze.

My bad call!

No interest for me - "my bad call".

I have a friend that stopped collecting comics and cards because he NEVER made the right call. After about 15 yrs of picking losers, he gave up. When he sold it off, his collection was probably 3000 books with a value of about $300. He thought it was going to be his retirement fund.

You guys do realize that Bone #1 in a 9.6 has an average sale price around $1650.00 over the last 2 years, right? NM #98 is a 750.00 book in that grade. ASM #300 is averaging 450.00 in that grade and climbing.

I'll also go with Bone - I loved it when it was new and my 9yr old can't get enough of the trades - multi generational appeal will keep demand for years and years.

Although the link says WD 100 I have to think it is for a variant.

Unless WD 100 is legit it looks like Alias 1 takes the crown for 2010+

That NM 98 price was for a 9.9 I think. The 10.0 went for even more.

I'm sticking with Bone - won't even let my kid read Dead Pool for another few years!!

In the end - meh! doesn't matter much really.
I only buy what I like - no speculation.
Buy as though you will have forever - if it goes up in$$ great, nice bonus - still not likely to sell. If it stays as dollar bin books also ok, I bought them because they were a good read

Issue 300 is the only ASM Anniversary comic I haven't read. Tried to read it twice but couldn't get past page 4.
