yeh it's milestone reprint i've seen those go for $500-600 9.4 - 9.6

but it's just the marvel milestone reprint edition? that entire book is worth $150 with signatures, and yes I'm factoring Stan's $120 sig fee

anyway that's really my only one time big "score". Haven't found anything even close to resembling that ever again.

@kaptainmyke how in world did you get it for $5, that's a steal!! Why is the label pinkish?

COLLECTOR dielinfinite private msg quote post Address this user
@Ny85 That's the (old) red label, meaning the signatures weren't witnessed and were verified after the fact

@Ny85 The red CBCS label is for verified signatures. It's for when you need a signature authenticated or verified by experts after it was signed.

The gold/yellow label is for Witnessed signatures only.

Also, I'm not sure where you're getting these numbers from? Maybe you saw an item for sale that didn't actually sell?

Looking at recent sold items on ebay for 9.8s signed by Stan Lee (the second book on the list was signed by Stan AND John Romita) in yellow labels (so expect a red label to get no more than these and likely less) the going price was far less

It's going to be very difficult to turn a profit, "belief" or not. You've already spent $175 and you're looking at another $100 or so (after shipping) to get the book graded so you'd have to sell the book for at least $275 just to break even.

In the past year, only one copy at 9.8 has sold for more than that with most selling for $200 or less. And it doesn't take much to knock tour book down from a 9.8 to a lower grade and you can ask anyone here how significant the value between just a 9.6 can be from a 9.8.

As @kaptainmyke said, you're really just paying for the signatures, which certainly wouldn't pull $300

I bought a Broadway Video Special Collector's Edition #1 for roughly $100. Chuck Rozanski told me he sold his slabbed 9.2 copy for $1200. So few come up for sale, it's hard to get sales data for it.

Hate to tell you, this is $100% correct.

Well, it's hard to beat an ASM #1 for .12 cents. But Marty Mann could probably beat me.

No! Don't flip the coin! Set it down the way you want it to land and don't turn it over.
