ERROR COMIC FANS, I have a weird one for you2233

Collector Darkga private msg quote post Address this user
So in a previous thread I mentioned a double cover Daring Adventures #12 (a silver age book with golden age Phantom Lady reprints). On a whim I ended up buying a different copy of the book that is even more weird though...

This book has internals that are upside down AND backwards in the cover, however one single panel is right side up!

Front cover

1st page

2nd page (check out the top left page on the left page)

Back cover

Last page

For my first thought, I thought the cover was reattached upside down....but when you added the upside down panel embedded within the book, now that is what is weird.

I don't think I have ever seen anything like it.

Interesting indeed.

One could guestimate that the single panel was inadvertently placed upside down to all others.....but since it is on a page that does not have others like it, I'm wondering if at an earlier time, panels were "pieced" together on a page, sort of like the old "printing press" editors had done.

*shrugs*

@ZosoRocks I think you might be right, the panels may have been engraved as separate pieces instead of a whole page.

@Darkga does the other copy have the same upside down panel?

I solved the mystery on that panel. It's actually supposed to be that way because it's the solution to a mystery on the other panels. You're supposed to flip the comic for the answer.

Yeah, there is a spine split and one detached staple, but everything looks original. I'm going to send it in to CBCS for slabbing though so we shall see if it passes the restoration check.
