There always appeared to be an abundance of First Issue Funny Animal
Comics on the newsstand...and of course I had to buy them when I could.

The cover says "In this issue-The strange tale of a man who returned
from death.....as a Gorilla!!"

No such story in this issue.

Well, they did warn you on the cover. That it is a "new kind of comic book".

Another cover that has nothing to do with the contents of the book.

Action in this issue takes place in FAIRYLAND and "GOTHAM CITY".

While adding scans of my POLICE COMICS to NOSTOMANIA I got a chance
to re-read some PLASTIC MAN stories and some Classic SPIRIT'S.

This, the only issue of LIBERTY COMICS I have, contains three repeat
HANGMAN stories I had never seen before.

While scanning this SIMON & KIRBY gem for NOSTOMANIA I ran across
this promotional ad for Dick Briefer's FRANKENSTEIN.

Can't show the above promo ad without showing the actual book.

Not sure, but I think this was the only story about BATMAN'S
Utility Belt.

One of my favorite and well-read comic books by a true "cartoonist".

While scanning my water damaged copy of BATMAN #50 for NOSTOMANIA
I discovered it contained an early VICKI VALE story.

My copy of BATMAN #37 has been well read and well traveled over the
years. But along with the torn corners it has a few production errors
including being cut at the top and the blue-faced BATMAN in the logo.
Note: The Cover and Splash Page contain slightly different artwork.

I don't think the ad on the back cover of BATMAN #45 could be run
today.

Funny thing about this cover, it was on the newsstand around the
same time my Mother got her very first refrigerator. We had always
had an Ice Box up until then.

Never thought I'd ask this about Superman but what is he doing with his finger? I do not understand the gag here at all.

@Badger - Back in the old days, before they had self-defrosting freezers, ice would build up around and below the freezer section. Lois is holding a hammer that she was going to use to try to break off the ice. Supes is like hey, I’ll just chip it off with my super-pinkie!
At least, that’s what it looks like to me.
