Classic Airboy two-parter (battling the rat army)...

The climax of the classic thriller)...

Both raw, Part I in grade, the climax appears rat chewed.

Sadly, I just heard about Alan Youngs passing about a month ago. He will live on always as Wilbur of Mr. Ed and of course the voice of Scrooge Mcduck

WOW, I didn't know anything about the passing of Wilbur till just now. Mr. Ed, fuc*spoon*king rules!!! It's right up there with "Star Trek", the original series. I think it was the pot smoking college kids that kept "Star Trek" and "Mr. Ed" alive, but both series quickly began falling short on the Neilson Ratings because the youngsters couldn't grasp it and the elders were more interested in Bonanza, Gun Smoke, The Big Valley, Hillbillies, Hee Haw,... which were all epic classics indeed! Jeez, and how many more?... Dream Of Genie, Bewitched, Gilligan's Island. But "Mr. Ed" set itself apart from all the rest, and IMO never received the credit it deserves.

Here are some books sold or traded over the past decade. They were all nice mid-range books, occasionally with flaws (this one was a blue label but got dinged down to a 6.5 for a loose centerfold) ...sweet book nonetheless:

Here's another classic post-war Cap that's no longer in my collection. It presents better than the 7.5 grade, but had a bit of silverfish or other bug damage along the top edge on BC.

Acquired through Metropolis as part of the Super Soldier collection at SDCC. Kinda regret letting this'n slip away (may try locating the current owner and buying it back someday if I don't locate a replacement in high grade).

Love the Shores cover...

Here's another great Cap (7.0) no longer in my collection that's begging for an eventual upgrade...

Love this Sid Shores cover art!

Do you have any complete runs of Timely titles, Cat?

Just one, ...

Seriously, the run I'd like to put together most is HIT Comics (Quality) in grade through #26. My primary focus has always been on well executed cover art which is understandable given my own art background. Eventually, I'll pull together a Timely run or two (Mystic or Daring), but as a high grade collector there are few long running titles that I find myself obsessed with owning every issue.

While I'm thinking about it, here's another Cap that found a home away from my collection. It was a 6.5 but presents much better. I do like this Shores cover and will eventually endeavor to replace it in grade...

Here's a nice copy of DBH that I sold a few years ago (I may have to try snagging another someday)...

Thanks! Alas, Syd's name was misspelled on the old CGC label and I copied it verbatim without thinking (my bad).

@CatmanAmerica it'd have to SOME grail to get me to part with one Cat. But knowing your tastes, I'm sure it was.

Yep, traded that copy of DBH as part of a deal to snag this copy Mystic #1...

Eventually upgraded my DBH to a 9.4 copy and then, as luck would have it, sold that one to raise cash for something else! (insanity emoticon)
