Hah! I corrected it. I am tired of being stalked by Aaron's unmarried non-feminist daughter.

Um... I believe I am too under educated for this statement to have the desired effect.

Aaron's unmarried non-feminist daughter AKA Miss Spelling.

In fairness, Aaron Spelling's notoriety as a Hollywood producer may be a tad before Doc' time, but I think that pun is downright hillarious! (thumbs up)

@DrWatson Ah, never really followed 90210 or reality TV.

Aaron Spelling's daughter Tori played Linda Lake in Smallville. There's always a little connection.

Well, at least she's a thoroughbred.

Any update on this? I can't see any productive reason why there should be so much unused space.

The general navigation and layout is a bigger problem for me; it’s just not very user friendly. It feels more like making quips on Twitter or Facebook than engaging in a conversation on a chat board. On the other hand it can be nice that the pace isn’t as hectic as it is across the street. The CBCS Forum, where a man can slow down to a walk and live his life full measure.

Jeffro,

Looking at the statistics on the boards, I can tell you that half of the people who access them are using a tablet or mobile device. This number will continue to increase.

Our board format is much more friendly for those types of devices. I never thought I'd browse this board on my phone. It has been my experience that other message boards are extremely frustrating to use on it. This forum is quite easy to use on a phone, with it losing almost no functionality.

Our developer is working on a few things that should roll out soon. *excited applause*
I'll talk to him about this, as I do see where you're coming from, but I don't want the board to lose the ease of use on handheld devices.

Just know that we are listening to your suggestions.

Thanks for the explanation, Dice. I didn't make the connection to mobile devices. I only use a PC or laptop.

Perhaps there is a way for users to customize the view depending on what device you are using? Not sure that's possible though.

I would think you should be able to design the site around a regular computer layout and then convert it to a separate mobile version for phones and tablets.

This.
I would hope CBCS could accommodate both groups. I have no desire to access the site on a mobile device

The forum is great - an open attitude and some familiar folks. But I have two mobiles and one tablet - it doesn't seem to work properly on any of these.

Fix this and add a selling thread and I would never leave

I have to agree...make it more mobile friendly and a bit easier to navigate and you'll never get rid of me. I'd also love a selling thread!

I don't have any trouble with the mobile site on my Samsung phone. In fact, it has improved over the last few days concerning correct graphic size.

I noticed something odd a couple weeks ago but didn't mention it until now. Don't know if it's been brought up before. I was looking through this thread.
http://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/207/page/1/atlas-and-nothing-but/

I looked through all the posts on page one and noticed that the last post was #30. When I went to page two, the first post on that page was #26. Shouldn't page two begin with post #31?

I then checked this out in a couple other threads and noticed the same thing.

Looking at this thread now.
http://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/288/page/1/ditch-fahrenheits-journal-8/
Page one has posts numbered 1 through 30
Page two has posts numbered 26 through 55 (shouldn't it be 31 through 60?)
Page three has posts numbered 51 through 80 (shouldn't it be 61 through 90?)
etc

Is this the board working as designed or a glitch? Is there a user setting that would account for this?

I've noticed that too. Also, sometimes when I try to back out of a thread, my browser won't go back, just stays on the same page. I use Firefox.

Hi Steve, site looks like a great start. Just need to split up the areas a bit.
I have a couple CBCS books so far; the holder is fantastic and the Swamp Thing 9 (9.8 W) is the best looking copy I have ever seen.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is the same thing as you are discussing, but when I go to a new page, the last few posts from the previous page appear at the top of the new page.

That's annoying, but the bigger issue for me is the lack of subforums. This board seems kind of a jumble.

Good news everyone!

I saw this quote on the CGC board from Mitch Mehdy:

"...let me make one thing clear, I am not nor will I ever post on the other company board. I am CGC thru and thru."

So we have that going for us!
