@kaptainmyke How many sketches do you have or original pages do you have? Can I post some of mine in this thread like this cover by Damon Bowie?

I have one sheet from the original mega bloks cover of the 2016 cover. I have a shredder sketch cover by someone I can't remember right now. I mostly have Kevin Eastman sketches of Ninja Turtle comics. Oh, and I have my 2 or 3 sketch covers I did myself, too

Wow, this is a blank sketch cover that Kevin Eastman sketched on. So good it looks like an actual production cover.

This question may have an obvious answer but when and where did the turtles get their different colors? Was it because of the cartoon or was it in the comics first?
Post 136 IP   flag post
COLLECTOR DarthLego private msg quote post Address this user
@AndyRexia The Cartoon was the first appearance of the different color masks. The original comics (the ones that were not black and white) featured all red masks. The Archie Comics series that followed after the cartoon picked up on the different color concept.

@DarthLego makes sense. First time I remember seeing all red masks was on the NES game cartridge. As a kid this confused me.

The NES game used the artwork from TMNT (Mirage) #4 2nd Print

Yes, the color bandannas were introduced to not confuse the kids. Nevermind the fact the original Mirage run was black and white and they all were red. Cowabunga!

I have a few. I just started collecting Eastman sketches. I've been trying to come up with ideas I've never seen before, and I try to set a new bar for Kevin. He really enjoyed the Casey Jones steals the batmobile.

This is one of my favorite Laird sketches of a turtle on the mail away exclusive Bigfoot figure from the TMNT movie

2016 Movie Joker and Movie Harley Quinn by Kevin Eastman

I hate that cover personally. I hadn't gotten my white pens and watercolor markers yet. Funny thing is I haven't drawn since. It's been a minute.

This book is pretty hard to find these days. This one is Peter Laird's file copy.

Here's a book I just purchased tonight on ebay.

TMNT (IDW) #50 Subscription Variant.

Signed by:
Kevin Eastman, (with Turtle Head Sketch).
Robert Rodriguez (yes, the director of Desperado), who actually did the inks for this cover that Eastman penciled.
Bobby Curnow, writer/editor for all things Turtles in IDW.

On the back cover, a zombie turtle sketch by Robert Rodriguez.

The label, CGC actually made an error on the cover art info, citing Gabriel Rodriguez instead of Robert. Gabriel actually did the art on a different variant of this issue.

Here on Kevin's site he talks about this issue. Him and Robert Rodriguez are close friends.
http://fan.kevineastmanstudios.com/?page_id=688

When I spotted this, I had to have it. I've always been a huge fan of Robert Rodriguez's movies. Turns out he was actually an artist before he got into film. I had know idea that he was friends with Eastman or had worked on a Turtle's book before I came across this.

I've always wanted to see what Stephen Platt would have done with the Turtles if he had drawn a cover or done just one issue. It would have to be his old style that he did in the 1990's though.
